The Eye Robot

The Eye Robot was developed by members of the CAVS Vision Group, a part of the Art, Culture and Technology program, for a theatrical production with producer and director Robert Wilson. The Eye Robot serves as a mediator between seeing and unseeing. It can interact with its surroundings, recite poems, show the audience what low vision is like, and provide visual/audio assistance to those who cannot see. The Eye Robot will be exhibited at the MIT Museum in December 2010.

The CAVS Vision Group is founded by Elizabeth Goldring, a visually challenged artist whose research focus is on creating visual experiences and seeing tools for people with low vision.
