Public service projects from MIT's Class of 2012

At MIT, students are encouraged to take on service-learning and public-service opportunities as part of their education.

The projects they tackle take the form of building new companies in developing countries, creating technology to support those in rural areas, and helping underprivileged youths gain access to education — among many others.

With Commencement on the horizon, a few of the members of MIT's Class of 2012 discuss how they took the Institute's motto — mind and hand — to heart over their MIT career.
