The education sector in India offers enormous opportunity to employ entrepreneurial business models to create a lasting and positive impact. Ashish Rajpal shares the story of iDiscoveri’s impact in Indian schools and possible implications for educational change across the world. He also shares his experiences as an entrepreneur building a sustainable venture in a domain that has only recently started accepting the role of private enterprise.The education sector in India is undergoing transformative change. The government is finally shifting its focus to educational quality. Parents now recognize that educational systems need to change radically if their children are to be truly prepared for success in life. Given the size of India’s education sector (360 million school-aged children), and this need for change, the entrepreneurial opportunity is huge, as the government and NGOs cannot sufficiently address the problem.
